Grade 4 Fine Art
Visual Art
This video shows a piece of art from each student through August to December. We kicked off our school year with a virtual global passport and visited well-known global stage artists and culture in West Africa and Australia and then on to Cambodia’s own Water Festival Boat Race. The students reviewed and expanded their art vocabulary. They worked with a wide range of materials and enjoyed each of them. Their sugar skulls and the bioluminescent Plankton were the hit on the notice board but they were exceptional in everything they did. The students worked in clay to create the form of bunny and experimented with light and the rule of thirds in photography. We rounded out the term with a glue and chalk gingerbread house which took so much time that they ended up in the classroom at breaktime to complete it. We hope that you enjoy our video.
Semester 2
Music
This term, students focused on reading the notes on the Treble and Bass clefs, reviewing note values of quarter, eighth, half, dotted half, and sixteenth notes, reading rhythms on the staff, creating songs on the Treble clef with known rhythms in groups and playing them on the glockenspiels and starting beginning piano.
